You or your loved one might think of help in the home as support with personal care, including getting dressed or undressed and support with medication or mobility around the home, but many of our clients also ask Caremark for help with domestic care or housekeeping. Support with some of life’s more tedious tasks such as emptying the bins or changing the bed sheets and dusting, can be very physically demanding and often we find clients simply cannot manage to do them due to being older and less able bodied or having physical disabilities. For older clients, it can be a great help to hand the daily chores over to someone else. Delegating these tasks to Caremark means that you able to save your time and energy for more important things in life, like spending time with your family and friends. Our care assistants understand that everyone has their own unique way of doing things and their own personal standard of housekeeping. You or your loved one will be in control of the services we provide, and we will be happy to carry out tasks according to your or your family member’s preferences and requirements. We understand that you/they may have spent years keeping up with domestic duties and that trusting someone else with that responsibility may feel a little strange at first.
What types of services are available?
Our Qualified Caregivers have the experience and compassion to provide assistance with everyday personal care tasks, such as:
- Assisting with morning and evening routines
- Bathing (showers, baths, sponge baths, bed baths)
- Restroom activities (toilet assistance, incontinence, accident monitoring)
- Personal hygiene/grooming (hair care, skin care, oral care, nail care)
- Dressing (clothing selection and assistance)
- Mobility (transfers, walking, range of motion exercises, light exercise)
Where do I receive personal care services?
In most cases, you will receive these services in your own home.
