Why Live-in Care is a safe care option during a pandemic:
With the help of a live-in carer, people can self-isolate at home for extended periods without the need for interacting with the public, other care home residents, or a large number of care or support staff.
The live-in carer can provide care, companionship and emotional support during this time, as well as ensuring the client stays well connected with family members by supporting the use of technology such as Zoom, Skype or WhatsApp.
Of course, all PMSS Live-in Carers receive infection control training and supplies of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to ensure they are providing a safe service.
We have also been extending our live-in carers placements to reduce the need for handovers, further reducing non-essential contact.
